What We Stand For
We live for the outdoors and the beauty of Snowdonia. They are both integral to who we are and lifestyle we choose. The Snowdonia Outdoor Festival believes in an outdoors for everyone and exists to help visitors develop skills, discover new ones - or to simply hang-out with people who share a common outlook. The festival also gives an opportunity to stand back, listen, learn and admire the abilities of the world’s best athletes, world class mountaineers and local legends too. With its stunning scenery, unrivalled setting and its natural arena, Bala is the perfect location for an Outdoors Festival and is an ideal starting point for adventure. The festival is the perfect outdoor weekend for outdoor families - particularly those with children aged 8 - 14 years old.
Launching in 2017 the Snowdonia Outdoor Festival is the new sister festival to the successful Keswick Mountain Festival, which is in its 11th year. Keswick Mountain Festival continues to grow and develop year on year inspiring visitors from across the UK and overseas, and is now one of the largest UK Mountain Festival attracting around 20,000 visitors to Keswick. Snowdonia Outdoor Festival will adapt some of KMF's most popular elements for the Bala location and audience.
Both festivals are organised by Brand Events, who are one of the UK's leading event organisers with Festivals such as CarFest, Top Gear Live and Kirsty Allsop's Handmade Fair in its portfolio.
“We’re really excited about the potential of the Snowdonia Outdoor Festival. Bala Lake provides a brilliant base for exploring the north and east of the magnificent Snowdonia National Park and it’s really accessible for visitors. We are building partnerships with local organisations in the area and putting together what I am sure will be a hugely welcome and successful addition to the summer programme of events. Scheduling the festival for the summer holidays gives parents a great new option for an outdoor family break in August.” Nicola Meadley (event director)
